Transfer Film to DVD
Before video cameras existed, movies were recorded using film. During the 1940's, through til the early 1980's, many families shot their vacations and special occasions with 8mm or super 8mm film movie cameras.

Most did not record sound, but some more expensive models did. We have equipment to convert all of these formats to DVD. Perhaps you have a box of these films collecting dust in your attic. Some may be in their original boxes as 50 foot 3 inch reels as shown to your left.

Sometimes avid hobbyists spliced several rolls together to make a longer film. There was a medium size 5 inch diameter 12 minute reel and a large size 7 inch 24 minute reel.
   


Customers sometimes ask if we can edit these films. Usually the way it works is we do the full transfer first and send you the DVDs. You view the DVDs and make notes about changes you would like. We can change the order, take out unwanted scenes add titles, music, slow motion etc..
Cost is based on the amount of time involved. The costs for a straight transfer of these films to DVD are shown in the table below.

We charge by .20 per foot to convert your film to DVD. So, those little 50 foot 3 inch reels will cost 10.00 each the 5 inch 200 footers 40.00 each and the large 400 foot 7 inch reels 80.00 each. 120 minutes will fit on each DVD. The chart below is a guide for cost, length and time.
